    Adding template comps

Mark the compositions Nubu should render as finished outputs.

Template comps are the compositions Nubu renders. Every finished creative starts life as one of them, so a template needs at least one; most carry a few, one per format.

    Add a template comp#

    1. In the After Effects Project panel, select one or more compositions.
    2. In Nubu Builder, click + Add.
    3. The Add Template Comp dialog opens. Comp Info shows the composition's name, dimensions, frame rate and duration, read straight from After Effects.
    4. Optionally write a Description (what this format is for).
    5. Click Add Template Comp.

The comp now appears under Template Comps in the panel's tree, and the schema saves automatically.

    Several formats, one template#

Add one template comp per output format. A typical social template carries, for example:

    CompUse
    STORY_15S_1080x1920Stories and Reels, 9:16
    FEED_15S_1080x1080Feed placements, 1:1

    Naming#

Comp names are managed in After Effects, not in the panel: rename the comp in the Project panel and the schema follows. Names that include the format and dimensions make templates much easier to work with later, in the flow editor and in rendered file names.

    What gets recorded#

For each template comp the schema stores its name, dimensions, frame rate, duration and your description. Nubu uses these to validate media at build time, for example warning when a video clip is shorter than the slot it fills.

If you try to add a comp twice, Nubu Builder tells you it is already a template comp.
